Indy - Liberty 5/22/2011
« on: May 22, 2011, 08:27:55 PM »

So I ventured to the Independence trail with my buggy friends down in Penrose.  The begining of the trail starts off with a really off camber ledge.  I did have one friend (nice XJ on 35"s) that was going to run Liberty with me, but he saw the ledge and said no way, i'm not doing that. (rest of the guys were intent on doing Patriot)  So I started to worry since now I would have to do Liberty all by myself.  The first ledge turned out to be a joke compared to the next one!  Now starts the pics.
Flexing down on the first ledge.

I didn't get any pics of the scary ledge from my camera, just a few after I was down it.

Well, just as the first buggy/old Toyota 4Runner cleared the last obstacle, he broke his left front hub so he decided to run Liberty with me! (not the rig pictured)

I took the lead in case I had to winch or give him a strap since he only had 3 wheel drive.  Pretty impressive rig he had, and on 39.5 Iroks, i was glad to be in great company.  Now on Liberty it was just him and I, thus the reason for all pics of my JK.  I offered to take pics of him a few times but he politely declined.  Very nice guy and definitely someone you would want on the trail with!  Here are the rest of the Liberty pics.

The exit (Liberty of course) was not hard at all and pretty fun.  Once we finished, we cruised over to the exit of Patriot and watched the last few buggies try and conquer the exit.  Very fun trail and definitely would do it again.  Patriot, no thanks!
