35" tires = no emissions

what to do went to get plates. nope need a emission test !! go to get test wait in line for 30 min. my turn  dude say's how big them tires.. i say 35's .  dude says can't do it    wont work on dyno . needs to be stock  i say #$@&.  that aint gonna happen  dude say " uh " some tire shops might rent me what i need ... what i need is an emission test .....  check eviropest they can't do tires bigger than 34"  any body else had this happen an got any solutions ?????

Go to big O tires..  all you need is 2 rear 32 inch tires you can leave your fronts on ...  They swap them out for you and its pretty cheap...   I did mine in westminster like that.  Pain in the ass but works..  Or maybe someone here will lend you 2 stockers for the day..

I had the same problem here when I went for my emissions test several months ago in Boulder. I stopped by Pollard and they swapped out my 35s for a set of stock wheels and tires so I could go run the test. Bit of a nuisance, but they only charged me a minimal fee ($20 or so), and it got the job done....until next time.


Personally I call BS on requiring a test then turning people away for being "incompatible" with testing equipment. And for 35s, most of which don't actually measure a true 35 inches?!?! Lame.
